Description
Location. The Amiral Palace Hotel is located in Istanbul, Turkey, 200 metres from the Blue Mosque and 800 metres from the Grand Bazaar. Distance to the nearest tram stop is 300 metres, and Sirkeci Train Station is one kilometre away.
Hotel Features. Opened in 2007, the five storey Amiral Palace Hotel is a modern boutique hotel, accessible by lift. Coffee is served in the air conditioned lobby where there is also a television, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Safe deposit boxes are available at the 24 hour front desk, and staff can assist with travel and tourist queries. Complimentary parking is available.
A complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning in the bright Cipa Restaurant. A la carte Turkish, Mediterranean, and European dishes are available for lunch and dinner The Amora Café is set on the roof terrace, and has panoramic views, and the Alarga Restaurant serves international and local dishes in a garden setting. Room service is available around the clock.
Business centre facilities include a meeting room with seating for 20 persons.
Guestrooms. The 32 air conditioned guestrooms have bright decor in cream and claret tones, with wood laminate or carpeted floors, and classical wooden furniture. There are seven categories of rating in operation: one star to five star hotels, 'Special Class' hotels and 'Boutique Class' hotels. Distance to Amiral Palace Hotel is 18 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Both airport terminals are connected to the metro system, which runs to the city centre. Single tickets cost approximately 1 TRY. The Havas Airport bus departs every 30 minutes for the main bus terminal and Taksim Square in central Istanbul. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes. Bus number 96 runs between the airport and the city centre, and a shuttle bus runs to the port. Taxis wait outside Arrivals; fixed prices are in place and the fare to the city centre should be approximately 20 30 TRY. At night, there is a 50 per cent surcharge. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Istanbul's extensive public transport system includes buses, metros (underground trains), trains, trams, sea buses, and ferries. Tickets can be purchased from main stops, stations, or kiosks prior to boarding. Istanbul's yellow taxis are reasonably priced, but travellers should ensure the meter is used. A cheaper alternative is to use a dolmus (minibus or shared taxi). Driving is not advised for visitors.

Rome

The Vatican: The Vatican is a state on its own. The Papal City State with an endless treasure troves of sights, relics and the world-known Vatican museum. Only a few minutes walk south the Vatican City you will find Trastevere. An array of narrow cobbled streets and lonely plazas served artists like Giorgio de Chirico as the inspiration for their works.
