Old Rome was the heart of Roman medieval and Renaissance periods. It features Italy's most beautiful plazas, cathedrals and antique monuments such as the Pantheon, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum reaching back as far as 2000 years. Only a few minutes walk south the Vatican City you will find Trastevere.
