Description
Location. The modern, nine floor Grand Yavuz Hotel, completely renovated in 2005, is situated in the bustling Sultanahmet district in the heart of old Istanbul, within a kilometre of famed sights such as the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Istanbul Ataturk Airport is 20 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes. Hotel Features. Expert Tip. Possibly the most eye catching sight in the city, the old Byzantine cathedral of Hagia Sofia, 500 metres from the hotel, dates from the 6th century, and for hundreds of years was the biggest enclosed space in the world. It is now a museum, and no less impressive.

DirectionsGetting there. Take the metro from the airport to Aksaray metro station, then take a tram to Çemberlitas tram station, 200 metres from Grand Yavuz Hotel. Taxis or dolmus (shared taxis) are available at the airport; a typical fare to the hotel should cost approximately 20 YTL.
Driving directions. From the sea, turn left at the Sultanahmet sign and take the first left. Continue for 300 metres and take the fifth turn on the right (at Kumkapi police station). Continue for 150 metres, and the hotel is on the right.

Rome
Old Rome was the heart of Roman medieval and Renaissance periods.
