Description
Location. The hotel Valide Sultan Konagi is located in the centre of old Istanbul, Turkey, within 50 metres of Topkapi Palace and 150 metres from the Blue Mosque. Sultanahmet metro station is 200 metres from the hotel.

Deliciously authentic, the locals hang out here too, not just to shop, but to eat at the dozen or so restaurants dotted through the market. Just remember to hone your haggling skills before heading out.

Distance to hotel Valide Sultan Konagai is 14 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Both airport terminals are connected to the metro system, which runs to the city centre. Single tickets cost about 1 TRY. The Havas Airport bus departs every 30 minutes for the main bus terminal and Taksim Square, in central Istanbul. Journey time is about 30 minutes. Bus number 96 runs between the airport and the city centre, and a shuttle bus runs to the port. Taxis wait outside Arrivals; fixed prices are in place and the fare to the hotel Valide Sultan Konagi is 15 EUR/20 30 TRY. A 50 percent surcharge applies at night. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Istanbul's extensive public transport system includes buses, metros (underground trains), trains, trams, sea buses, and ferries. Tickets can be purchased from main stops, stations, or kiosks prior to boarding. Istanbul's yellow taxis are reasonably priced, but travellers should ensure the meter is used. A cheaper alternative is to use a 'dolmus' (minibus or shared taxi). Driving is not advised for visitors.

Rome
